L7 Signs Multimillion-Dollar Contracts with Western Power and Horizon Power
19-May 2008
PERTH, WA, 19 May—L7 Solutions announced today that it has recently signed two long-term contracts with Western Power and Horizon Power to provide them with a Cisco-based enterprise-wide IP telephony solution. The win for L7 follows their other recent contract wins with Woodside, Murdoch University, Perth Airports and ENI.
L7 Solutions was chosen via a stringent 12-month tender process to become Western Power’s and Horizon Power’s enterprise telephony partner. With a combined base of more than 3000 end users, the projects will occur in parallel and are both expected to be completed over two years. The agreement includes the procurement and implementation of all Cisco IP telephony, the supply and provision of all maintenance and a managed service arrangement to support the implemented solution.
The deal is a significant milestone for L7 Solutions, who competed against an impressive group of national and multinational providers to win both contracts. “The new contracts are extremely important to L7 and both fit well with our strategy for maintaining 100% focus on the WA market,” said Matt Sullivan, Managing Director of L7 Solutions.
Pleased with the new partnership, Chief Information Officer, Leigh Sprlyan, of Western Power said “We ran a very thorough tendering process for this project because the technology and supplier choices were significant decisions supporting the business transformation currently occurring at Western Power. I look forward to working in partnership with L7 as the successful proponent to deploy a best-of-breed CISCO IP telephony platform across the business.” Horizon Power’s Simon Duggan added “After an exhaustive evaluation process, we also arrived at the conclusion of selecting L7 as our IP telephony partner. I am looking forward to the relationship with L7”.
Western Power is Western Australia’s primary electricity networks utility which is 100% owned by the Western Australian Government. In April 2006, Horizon Power was created by the separation of the Western Power Corporation into four stand-alone businesses. Horizon Power services the Pilbara, Kimberley, Gascoyne, Mid West and southern Goldfields, including about 28 towns and isolated communities.
