L7 chosen by CBH for Corporate Technology refresh

15-Oct 2006

L7 was recently engaged by Co-operative Bulk Handling Group (CBH) to perform a critical migration of their existing Citrix MetaFrame XPe farm to Presentation server 4.0. Having carefully analysed CBH's key business requirements, L7 adopted a co-existence strategy for the establishment of the new farm. Using a Pilot group of citrix users, L7 established the Presentation Server 4.0 farm and undertook significant functionality testing to validate the compatibility of business applications. On completion of the Pilot phase testing, L7 utilised Symantec LiveState to rebuild and scale the farm to meet CBH's business requirements. The project was successfully delivered without impacting CBH end users due to the co-existence strategy employed.

About the CBH Group:
The Western Australian based CBH Group stores, handles and markets grain. The WA harvest averages ten million tonnes annually, of which 95 per cent is exported, and represents up to 40 per cent of the nation’s average annual production. The CBH Group is a leading grains industry organisation, marketing grain to over 20 export destinations and with a total storage capacity in excess of 19 million tonnes.

CBH is committed to maximising returns to its growers. CBH is controlled by over 5,700 grower-shareholders, who plant and harvest grain grown across some 320,000 square kilometres that comprise the Western Australian grainbelt.

The diversification of CBH has made it less dependent on storage and handling charges as a primary source of income and more robust in drought seasons or downturns in the industry. CBH has diversified through two foundation subsidiaries - Grain Pool Pty Ltd and Bulkwest Pty Ltd.
